Runway
The airport has one 2500 x 50m runway made of tarmac and concrete. Load-bearing capacity of the runway totals 49 PCN DS.
The runway is equipped with a system of navigation lighting (edge lights) and a system of ILS radio navigation on direction 29 enabling landing and take-off of all types of airplanes.
Apron area
The surface of the apron area totals 70.000 m2. PCN indicator for the designed surface is PCN 52/R/A/!. The new terminal is connected with the apron area by means of a technical road. There is a possibility to make available the military apron area located in the northern part of the airport. This area covers the surface of 49.200 m2.
Taxiways
The airport has two taxiways: A and B, both have the width of 23 m. Both taxiways are equipped with:
- ground surrounding navigation lighting system with skim filter type IDM 5013/45W together with supply cables WN and NN.
- daytime signage of the surface – axial line of taxiway, edge lines, cross-bars before runway. Signage is made of yellow acrylic paint.
Navigational lightening system
A modern system of navigation support lighting manufactured by Finnish company IDMAN OY allows 24-hour operations connected with air traffic at the Poznań – Ławica Airport.
Geometrical system, according to category I of ICAO international regulation, in the shape of a 900-metre-long cross with a cross-bar located 300 m from the edge, with flash axis equipped with 30 frames generating light flashes, is used in the approaching lighting system in primary direction. The runway is equipped with edge lights of white and yellow colour. The beginning and end of the runway are marked with end lights and wing bars of green and red colour. Taxiway towards the passenger platform is marked with blue lights. Depending on the weather conditions and visibility, air traffic controllers choose one of the five pre-programmed levels of light intensity: 1,3,10,30 or 100%. Power supply of the lighting system is guaranteed by two energy lines and a power-generating unit, while optical fibres ensure efficiency of control.

Passenger terminal
The terminal was put into use on 4 November 2001. The architectural design of the new terminal is very modern and meets all global requirements and standards. The terminal covers the area of 14.000 m2. Traffic capacity of the terminal is 1,2 – 1,5 million passengers a year. The airport is able to service 430 arriving passengers and 450 departing passengers at the same time in one hour. It gives a total number of 880 passengers per hour, which corresponds to three B-737 class airplanes. The new terminal has the highest standard of “A” category acc. to ICAO for main areas of passenger service. There are 16 check-in desks and 5 gates in the Terminal. Passengers can use air-conditioned spacious departure and arrival halls as well as travel agencies, an elegant restaurant, bars, banks, shops, car rental offices and an observation desk. Passengers flying abroad can do shopping at duty-free shops and spend pleasant time in a separate and exclusive Business Executive Lounge. Special guests of our airport can use comfortably equipped VIP rooms. The new Passenger Terminal is an “intelligent” building, which means that heating, air-conditioning and monitoring systems as well as alarm and fire systems are controlled automatically. The terminal is adapted for disabled people. National and international arrival and departure lounges have been designed to allow adaptation in order to fulfil European Union requirements.
